“A New Family”
In a bustling city, a stray dog gave birth to a tiny puppy in a greenbelt, her frantic barks echoing through the air as she tried to protect her little one. Just a week earlier, a timid white dog had appeared outside a nearby roast duck shop. The shop owner had thrown a bag of leftover duck tails to the newcomer, who hesitated, sniffing the food and glancing up at the man, unsure. With cautious optimism, the white dog picked up the bag and scampered away, always on the lookout for cars.
The next day, the white dog arrived early, and the owner was ready with more food. This routine continued, with the owner saving scraps daily for his furry visitor. Before long, word spread among the local stray dogs, and the white dog returned with its mate, sharing the bounty together. The pair quickly became regulars, forming a bond with the owner, who had taken it upon himself to feed the strays. NAs days passed, the dogs grew more comfortable, though they still hid under cars, their cautious nature evident. One day, the white dog led the owner to a hidden spot in the greenbelt. Curious, he followed, carrying a fresh bag of duck tails. To his surprise, he found a stray mother dog and her newborn puppy, panting and vulnerable on the ground. The white dog stood nearby, watchful and protective.
Realizing the puppy needed care, the owner brought food and water for the mother dog. He was puzzled by the puppy’s brown fur—could the white dog not be its father? The mother dog fiercely shielded her pup, making it difficult for the owner to approach. Ultimately, he gently coaxed her aside, cradling the tiny puppy in his hands. It was barely a few days old, its eyes still closed. He fed the hungry pup goat milk, which it eagerly drank, searching for its mother afterward. The following evening, the owner returned to the greenbelt to reunite them. The mother dog lay under the car, sad and listless. She didn’t respond until the man lifted the puppy to show her. The moment she saw her pup, disbelief and joy filled her eyes.
With careful hesitance, she approached, licking the puppy tenderly. In that moment, the owner realized he needed to take both mother and puppy home. After a day of coaxing, the mother dog finally made the decision to trust him, knowing her puppy would have a better life with humans. The next day, after adopting the mother dog, the owner ensured to check on the white dog, still wary but ever-watchful. Their bond grew, simple yet profound, showcasing the beauty of companionship and care in a world often fraught with challenges. The owner hoped that, one day, the white dog would lower its guard, finally coming home to reunite with the family it helped create.
